Nightfreight is set to enhance its two-man home delivery solution with the launch of a Saturday service to meet the growing demand from consumers for wider and more convenient delivery options. The Saturday service will operate from 23 sites within Nightfreight's depot network.
As part of the service development, Nightfreight is also implementing a new routing software package to support the reduction of a new delivery time window offered to the consumer. This technology solution will:
· Improve the efficiency of vehicle scheduling
· Provide increased accuracy of am/pm deliveries
· Facilitate the introduction of a three-hour delivery time window.
Peter Louden, Managing Director of Nightfreight, commented: "We now deliver over 1.5 million consignments to consumers at home on behalf of over 100 customers including B&Q, John Lewis, Amazon, Eclipse Blinds, Early Learning Centre, TOYSRUS, Wilkinsons and JD Williams. Our unique strength is that we utilise our national network to provide a highly efficient service and can now deliver to over 80% of the UK population every day."
