DURATION
One to five day courses, weekend courses by special arrangement. The course length is dependant on the experience you have had on a fork lift truck. Guidelines are outlined briefly below, for more information please ring our admin team on:-

1 Day Refresher course for those who already have a certificate
2 Day Experienced operators without a certificate
3 Day Novice with minimum experience of handling a forklift truck
5 Day No experience of driving a forklift
LOCATION
Nightfreight Training Services purpose built training centre, or on site at the customers premises.
TIMES
Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm
Courses are held every week of the year except over the Christmas week.

COURSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
1. To enable the operator to demonstrate that he / she:
Is able to operate the FLT in an efficient manner, having due regard to his / her own safety and that of others, without damage to merchandise, property or equipment either being carried on, or in the vicinity of the FLT and,
Understand the basic principles pertaining to the use and maintenance of FLT's.
Where necessary, to establish any residual training need and advise on remedial action.
2. To issue a certificate of competence in terms appropriate to the operator's ability.
TRAINEE SPECIFICATION
Experienced FLT operators who require an authentic, independent assessment of their competence.
COURSE CONTENT
Preliminary manoeuvring exercises and oral assessments Safety aspects
Routine maintenance of machine, daily and periodic checks.
Stacking, de-stacking, correct procedures Final competency test and discussion of result.
DURATION: 2 Days
LOCATION: Nightfreight Training or on-site
TIMES: 0830 - 1630 Hours
COURSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
1. To enable the operator to demonstrate that he / she:
Is able to operate the FLT in an efficient manner, having due regard to his / her own safety and that of others, without damage to merchandise, property or equipment either being carried on, or in the vicinity of the FLT and, Understand the basic principles pertaining to the use and maintenance of FLT's.
Where necessary, to establish any residual training need and advise on remedial action.
2. To issue a certificate of competence in terms appropriate to the operator's ability.
TRAINEE SPECIFICATION
Experienced FLT operators who require an authentic, independent assessment of their competence and a limited amount of training to raise them to the required standard.
COURSE CONTENT
Preliminary manoeuvring exercises and oral assessments / appropriate training aspects.
Routine maintenance of machine, daily and periodic checks.
Stacking, de-stacking, correct procedures.
Final competency test and discussion of result.
DURATION: 3 Days
LOCATION: Nightfreight Training or on-site
TIMES: 0830 - 1630 Hours
COURSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
1. To enable the operator to demonstrate that he / she:
Is able to operate the FLT in an efficient manner, having due regard to his / her own safety and that of others, without damage to merchandise, property or equipment either being carried on, or in the vicinity of the FLT and,
Understand the basic principles pertaining to the use and maintenance of FLT's.
Where necessary, to establish any residual training need and advise on remedial action.
2. To issue a certificate of competence in terms appropriate to the operator's ability.
TRAINEE SPECIFICATION
For
the partially experienced FLT operator who requires formal training and / or
remedial action, to bring him / her up to the required standard for passing the
test and obtaining a Certificate of Competence.

Practical and oral assessment
Basic principles of FLT operations
Daily inspections / maintenance
Corrective operating practice
Weight assessment
Vehicle loading and unloading
NOTE
Competency test taken on completion of course.

TIMES: 0830 - 1630 Hours
COURSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
To enable the operator to demonstrate that he / she:
Is able to operate the FLT in an efficient manner, having due regard to his / her own safety and that of others, without damage to merchandise, property or equipment either being carried on, or in the vicinity of the FLT and,
Understand the basic principles pertaining to the use and maintenance of FLT's.
Where necessary, to establish any residual training need and advise on remedial action.
2. To issue a certificate of competence in terms appropriate to the operator's ability.
TRAINEE SPECIFICATION
Persons with suitable mental and physical aptitudes, having no experience of FLT operations.
